100% American Blown Glass!!! We do not support Chinex!
Lemme run this down for ya... American blown glass is annealed. The annealing process reduces the stress in the glass which makes it more durable. It has to reach a certain temperature in the kiln and remain at that degree for an amount of time then cool slowly.
When theres stress from working the glass into the piece of smokable art that it is, when its dropped or dinged against another piece of glass or metal the highest points of stress are going to crack or break. Or even just simply heating the glass repeatedly, if its not annealed eventually thats going to be its downfall no matter how careful you are.
Let's face it... we never really own glass. We just rent it. It WILL break! It could take 5 minutes, 5 days,5 years or maybe even 50!!!! But that day will come eventually. If its properly manufactured a few bumps or dings wont make a difference.
China glasswares are kilned to the minimum amount to prevent glass from cracking as it cools. Or they're not put in a kiln at all. Their sweat shop production process is blow it, put it in fiber blanket so it cools slowly, ship out when quantity is reached. There's a reason why these commercial places buy China products for pennies on the dollar... or around a dollar up tp five a piece, pending on the quanity. Ya' get what ya' pay for.
